Scandals continue to shake the Algerian Olympic team. In the latest incident, three boxers from the Algerian team were caught stealing bikes in the London Olympic village, local media reported on Friday.

According to a source close to the Algerian Olympic committee, the bikes stolen belonged to the Swedish selection. Security agents reportedly found the bikes in one of the three athletes’ room.

The Algerian Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports confirmed the information, the website Algérie Patriotique reports.

No official statement has been made.

The 2012 Summer Olympics are officially set to begin on Friday with the opening ceremony.
