App Store turns 4 years old - Here are 5 weird apps

The App Store has officially turned 4 years old today.  On July 10, 2008, it was released with just 500 apps into the hands of the public who downloaded 10 million apps in just 3 days.  Now we have approximately 630,000 apps to choose from, reaching an all-time high of nearly 30 billion downloads.

The first TV advertisement that featured the App Store was called, ‘There’s An App For That’.  Check it out below:

There really is an app for just about everything.  From tracking your bowel movements to detecting metal - the list goes on forever.  Here are 5 weird apps that you might not have heard of:

Bowel Mover Pro - ($1.99) - Track your bowel movements with visual statistics, a graphical calendar, password protection (huh?) and you can even take screenshots and... err, e-mail them to whoever you want.

Metal Detector - (FREE) - Apparently apps can use your iPhone’s built-in GPS system to detect metal objects nearby.  There are phonies out there but this app, somewhat officially named, is a true metal detector.  It may not work very well, but it does actually work.

________

iAmAMan - ($1.99) - Track your girlfriend’s period (yes, you read that right) so you can plan your dates, evenings and even save some money.  You have to give credit to the developer, though, as he has even included a feature whereby different girls have different passwords.  You can add several girls at a time so if one encounters the app and enters her given password, she will only see the calendar for herself.  (I told you this list is weird)

________

iFart Mobile - ($0.99) - This app doesn’t need an introduction.  Probably the most common type of apps, iFart transforms your iPhone into a virtual fart machine.

________

Hold On! - ($0.99) - If you have hours to kill, you should download this app.  All you have to do is tap and hold onto a grey button for as long as you can.  A timer beneath will show you how much time has progressed and an in-app scoreboard can challenge you to hold on for even longer.
