Drivers in Leicester, especially young drivers, have been warned of unknowingly driving without valid car insurance.
According to Leicestershire County Council's Trading Standards, an online company, Aston Midshires Insurance, based in Enderby, had been selling car insurance targeting young drivers; however, there had been about 30 reports complaining that the car insurance purchased from the company did not appear to be valid.
The Trading Standards and police are investigating the company.
The company’s website has since been removed.
Anyone who has purchased car insurance from Aston Midshires Insurance is advised not to drive until they have arranged valid insurance cover.
