Bahraini rights activists Nabeel Rajab sentenced for 3 months after masked men make arrest

Prominent Bahraini activist Nabeel Rajab has been sentenced to three months in jail for statements made on Twitter. Rajab, who heads the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, was arrested for sending a Tweet, in Arabic, to the people of the village of Muharraq, which the government said was defamatory. A video of his arrest was leaked showing masked men from the authorities arresting him. The tweet that the government feel was a punishable comment from Nabeel Rajab accused the people of Muharraq of having supported the Khalifa ruling family out of a desire for monetary gain.
