Cannabis dealers caught after advertising on Facebook

  • comments

Two South African men face drug dealing charges after advertising their illegal business on the social networking site Facebook.

The two accomplices, whose name have not been released, posted on Facebook photos of small piles of marijuana as well as pictures of themselves wearing T-shirts on which was written “dealer” or “the man”.

“The suspects were advertising themselves as if they were untouchable on Facebook and they were selling drugs,” Independent Online quoted a police spokesman as saying.

On June 27, Cape Town Crime Intelligence Unit raided their house and seized drugs. Both men, aged 22 and 23, were arrested during the operation but have since been released on bail.

The two suspects will appear in court in August.
