Following England's Quarter Final defeat to eventual finalists and runners up Italy, FIFA have announced new rankings which see World and European Champions Spain remain top whilst England have somehow sneaked into 4th spot.
The rankings, which have in the past been criticised for not reflecting the true reality of world football, see's England reach the top 4 for the first time in a very long time.
Spain have managed to extend their lead significantly by defending their European title, while finalists Italy move to 6th, up 6 places.
Defeated semi-finalists Portugal went to 5th whilst Germany go to 2nd. Greece (12th, up 3), Czech Republic (18th, up 9) and hosts Poland (54th, up 8) and Ukraine (46th, up 6) have also moved up.
5 times World Cup winners Brazil are out of the top 10 for the first time in 20 years.
