French company applies to trademark Anonymous logo and slogan

It has been reported that a French company named 'Early Flicke'r is trying to trademark the Anonymous slogan "Anonymous. We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us,” and their logo featuring a headless suited man standing before a globe.

Information activist @Asherwolf informed Tech Crunch of a trademark filing dating back from February 2012 showing a man, Apollinaire Auffret, applying to the National Industrial Property Institute (France) to protect the anonymous logo and slogan.

Early Flicker is specialized in making and selling pop-culture accessories such as T-shirt, iPhone covers, earphones or cooking utensils.

Tech Crunch has described the decision as “not wise” saying that the French company wasn’t “just playing with fire” but directly taunting a large group of people with weapons that shoot fire…and who have little hesitation in using them.”
