Across the country today (Thurs) Remploy employees, their families and supporters are demonstrating outside factories against government proposals to close them.
Announced earlier this year, the governments plans to close 36 of the 54 Remploy factories was met with harsh criticism.
Remploy employ disabled workers in the UK, and their factory closures would see as many as 1,700 people out of work. Being such a specialist employer, those left unemployed would likely struggle to find alternative work.
