More than 26,000 Syrians have been killed since the beginning of the uprising against president Bashar al-Assad in March 2011, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on Thursday.
The Britain-based Observatory has documented 26,424 deaths, including 18,807 civilians, 1,081 defected soldiers and 6,536 members of the Syrian security forces.
At least 67 people have died so far on Thursday, according to the Local Coordination Committees (LCC).
