Passers-by lift car to save trapped 9-year-old [VIDEO]

More than 20 people joined efforts on Saturday to save a 9-year-old boy after he got stuck underneath a car in East York, a district in the Canadian city of Toronto.

The accident happened early afternoon around 1:30PM according to a report by CBCnews. The young boy, whose name was not released, was hit by a Lincoln Town Car as he was crossing in front of a bus that had stopped to pick up passengers.

The victim was dragged nearly 15 meters before a crowd of people came to the rescue of the child and freed him from the vehicle.

"They put it on neutral, they lifted it up and they pushed it backwards," CBCnews quoted one youth who witnessed the event. "He was bleeding from his back. He was like crumpled up. The condition was really bad," the youth added.

The 9-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment. Doctors say his life in not in danger.
