Clashes broke out on Wednesday between protesters and riot police near the Syrian embassy in Cairo. A security official say 14 people were detained.
According to eyewitnesses, riot police fired tear gas at the crowd.
Activist Ahmad H. Aggour, who attended the protest, said several people were injured.
Clashes erupted after Syrian activists attempted to storm the Syrian embassy in Cairo and fly the rebel flag.
