Police link sex attacks in St George, Bristol

Police have officially linked two separate sex attacks which occurred in the same spot in St George, west of Bristol, they are now looking for one perpetrator for both incidents.

Both attacks happened in an alley- way off the Kingsway, opposite Furber Road. It was here that a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at around 9.30pm on Wednesday last week, and where at 10.15pm on May 11 two 16-year-old girls were walking home along the Kingsway when a man appeared from the alleyway and attacked one of the girls before being pushed away and making off back down the alley.

Police were out last night at the spot asking passers-by for information and looking for potential witnesses.

Detective Constable Sam Donati told Bristol's The Post that he was "very confident" that the two incidents were linked because they happened at the same place, at similar times of the evening and had other connections.

The man being sought has been described as white and about 6ft tall, with a Bristolian accent and wearing a black balaclava. Another description is that he is white and was wearing sunglasses and a beanie hat. He was aged between 20-40.

Bristol police have increased their patrols of the area following the two incidents, in the hope of reassuring residents and catching the offender.
