Call me old fashioned, but I have never quite understood why those who practice religion feel the need not just inflict their psychosis on their offspring through indoctrination but to physically alter them in the name of their “God”. Yes, I’m talking about those who decide to take a knife to the genitals of 8 day old infant boys or 8 year old girls (always in the name of “cleanliness” or some such twaddle) or declare the “right” to rub chilli powder in the eyes of their Voodoo afflicted children to ward off evil spirits.

 Let’s deal with the recent legal case in Germany, whereby a four year old Muslim boy was circumcised (against his will, of course) by a Muslim doctor in Cologne. Within four days, the boy was in hospital with profuse bleeding and the Doctor was in court, charged with child assault and the end result being that circumcision on non-willing, underage participants (children) should be outlawed.

Instead of recognising this as a HUGE leap forward in the power of the individual, no matter how small, for the battle over his own body, Angela Merkel immediately capitulated to the demands of the Jewish/ Muslim faith who have been happily slashing the genitals of their offspring for Millennia – because an invisible person instructs them to. So once again in Germany, complete strangers are allowed to take a scalpel to the most intimate parts of a baby whilst it is illegal to name your child “TrixyBell” (strangely true- it is classed as child abuse). Meanwhile, we are happily horrified when we discover in the gutter press that some crazed African in North London has been pulling out the teeth  of a wayward toddler to save them from fictitious entities that exist only in the mind of the perpetrator. Quite rightly, we jail the latter, yet place barbed wire and keep out signs around the barbaric cultural practices of winky slashing and “oral suction” performed by various weirdy beardies in secret rituals performed in Golders Green or Tower Hamlets

“It prevents HIV” they bleat, in the deluded belief that a) no circumcised man has ever been infected with HIV and b) an 18 year old is unable to make that choice for himself when ready. “It’s part of our culture” they wail. Well, so is drunken wife beating north of the border or the eating of Albino children in Tanzania but nobody is rushing to defend or encourage that in our multi cultural societies.

What we allow religions to do to our children is a measure of what we allow religions to do to our society. A religion that implores that all children belong to and are the sole property of an invisible higher power, are refused the freedom to become free thinking individuals, forced to sacrifice precious lumps of their own flesh for crying out loud, against their free will, to show their utter submission is not just outright moonbat barbaric, it is perpetuating total slavery of the mind on those least able to resist it.

If your child wants a circumcision, just as if your child requests a facial tattoo, it is a matter for the child to decide, when the time is right. At adulthood. That includes ear piercing, nose piercing, tribal markings, limb sacrifice or bolts through the neck. Just because you have procreated does not give you ownership over the body of your child. You are still accountable for any physical or mental abuse you inflict upon that child just as surely as you would be held responsible for any assault you perform on someone else’s child. You are the legal guardian of your child, required by LAW to protect your child from assault – and that includes from anyone carrying a knife yelling that God insists you let them cut your baby.
