Despite threats from authorities that if they fail to leave they will be evicted, protesters at the Occupy Edinburgh camp in St. Andrew's Square have vowed to stay indefinitely.

The announcement comes when pressure for the camp to disband is mounting from the authorities, the public, and businesses.

It is now thought that action will be taken against the protesters to ensure their removal.
