Rare camera breaks record with £1.75 million sale in Vienna

A new world record has been set after a vintage Leica camera sold at auction in Vienna for a staggering £1.75 million.

In less than a minute, the bid had reached €1 million, and closed after a mere 4 minutes.

Only 25 of the rare 1923 0-Series Leica were produced. The model sold in Vienna remains in full working condition, and the new owner remains strictly anonymous.

While the vintage models are obviously extremely desirable, Leica are set to launch a new range of cameras, highly anticipated by photography enthusiasts.
