Staff and students in Leeds are celebrating the opening of a new £30m school.
Monday marks the official start of lessons in plush new surroundings for pupils at Leeds West Academy.
Built on the site of the old Intake High School in Rodley, the new Academy was one of the last to be constructed under the previous government’s Building Schools for the Future programme.
Its flagship facilities include an ICT suite, interactive classrooms, new gym, theatre and dance studio. There is also a new sports hall, science labs and even a fully equipped hair and beauty salon for students taking vocational courses
