Robert Snodgrass, Leeds United's current captain has been offered a new contract which would see him become the highest paid player at the club.
Boss Neil Warnock is keen to secure the services of the Scottish international for next season, when he expects Leeds to be serious contenders for promotion. Speaking to the clubs official website Warnock said;
"I want him to be our captain next year and I've asked him to give us a year to get Leeds United into the Premier League and if we don't get there at the end of next season, I'll get him there myself because I'll help him and let him go."
The move, if successful, would provide welcome news for United fans, who have watched their promotion push come to a rather uninspiring end in recent weeks. With Aidy White about to enter similar negotiations, it is becoming clearer who the manager wants on board next year ahead of the "major surgery" he has promised.
