35,000 police officers march in London: Picture Gallery

Yesterday as many as 35,000 police officers marched through central London, the largest-ever police demonstration. The protest centred around proposed cuts to the police budget which would result in job losses for 16,000 officers, black caps were worn by 16,000 participants to represent the cut.

Starting outside the Conservative headquarters at Millbank the march passed the Home Office, Houses of Parliament, the Treasury, Whitehall, Trafalgar Square and the National Police Memorial.

Photographs in the gallery were contributed by protesters themselves and citizen journalists covering the event. Thanks to: @njg28, @SgtGaryWatts, @blacbloc, @lucy_peel, @HarpyMarx, @Blacky175, @EncryptedEnigma, @Henry_Langston, @adywilsn, @moinamac.
