Eight fire engines and forty fire fighters attended a fire on Thurlow Gardens, Wembley. Fire crews were called to a single storey workshop just after 11.50am this morning.

A safety cordon was in place because of gas cylinders, including one acetylene at the site. High Rd near to Wembley Central Station, Ealing Rd and Thurlow Gardens were closed off for three and half hours until the fire was brought under control.

Around 25 residents were evacuated from their homes as well as businesses close by.
