Shoppers were evacuated from the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford this afternoon because of a bomb scare.

Eye witnesses reported riot police, bomb squad, ambulances and helicopters in attendance.

Police cordoned off the entrance, and sniffer dogs were seen entering the building.

The situation was resolved within 20 minutes.
