London's financial district is to get 100 bomb-proof bins ahead of this summer's Olympics.
The bins, made from material four times stronger than steel, are designed to absorb heat from explosions.
The bins will also have sections for recycling and a screen displaying news and travel info.
Iranian designer, Kaveh Memari, has said
Previously the City of London has been reluctant to place bins in busy areas over fears that bombs could be placed in them. The new bins from Renew, founded by two former LSE students, hope to solve the lack of rubbish disposal in the City as well as providing recycling facilities and useful information.
