A man hunt has been launched in Trentham, Staffordshire, after an armed robbery of Natwest bank.
Police are currently at the scene on Longton Road as the investigation into the incident begins, and the road remains closed.
Staffordshire Police have said:
Initial inquiries show up to three/four masked offenders in a green-coloured flat-back truck vehicle attempted to ram the building just after midday today, Thursday, but failed. This vehicle was then set on fire.
The offenders then utilised a silver vehicle, a Vauxhall Vectra, to leave the scene, but set fire to this vehicle and abandoned it in Barlaston Old Road.
This is a fast-moving incident and officers are actively looking for the offenders. The force’s helicopter is also assisting with the search.
