Body
A man who went on the rampage in St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh has been jailed for three and a half years. Lee Peattie, 34, caused £12,000 worth of damage in June 2011. He smashed 10 wooden chairs, broke two stained glass windows and damaged a stone which marked the life of the reformer John Knox. He was shouting and screaming incoherently during the rampage, which caused tourists to flee the church. Peattie was convicted of breach of the peace and causing malicious damage. He had chosen to defend himself after dismissing his legal team.
