A 19-year-old girl was killed this morning after being hit by a taxi on the A1085 Coast Road.

The teenager is from the Redcar area and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cleveland Police are now appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision.

The accident happened at 4.50am today.
