The search for an eight year old boy who is still missing after falling into the River Wear has being extended down river.

Police, Specialist divers, RAF and mountain rescue teams have been searching for Ian Bell since Friday night. The boy was playing with friends when he fell from an embankment.

Durham Police are expected to make a statement regarding the search later.
