Chemicals used in illegal drug production cause road closure in Sheffield

Ridgehill Avenue in Sheffield has been closed as police dispose of chemicals used in the production of illegal drugs.

A 30-year-old man has allegedly been arrested under suspicion of attempting to produce class A drugs. He is in police custody.

South Yorkshire Police have said:

"This is not a bomb scare.
This road has been closed and a number of neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precautionary measure and there is no concern for public safety."
