A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a van on the A99 in Scotland.

The accident happened about a mile south of Thrumster in Caithness on Saturday afternoon. The male motorcyclist was killed and the driver of the van is being treated for serious injuries.

The road was closed for around six hours whilst collision investigators carried out there work.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
