Animal Circus comes to Liverpool

Circus Mondao has returned to Merseyside to host a animal circus; despite protests against the circus in the last performances.

Last year around 25 people protested outside the circus, urging people not to visit the circus. Petra Jackson, Circus Mondao ringmistress says that the animals are well kept. Petra Jackson added, “Our animals are happy and content. There is a difference between animals rights and animals welfare which we care about too.”

The R.S.P.C.A. have said on their website, "We don't believe animals should be subjected to the conditions of circus life. Regular transport, cramped and bare temporary housing, forced training and performance, loud noises and crowds of people are all typical and often unavoidable realities for the animals."

Scientific studies have revealed that Circus Animals have "physiological stress responses, mental and physical suffering, bouts of abnormal behaviour, health risks from inadequate hygiene, dietary deficiencies"

One of the elephants in a Bobby Robert's Circus, Anne, was being struck by her minder with a pitchfork. The circus claimed that "We take good care of her, she is a family pet". It just goes to show what really is kept from the public.

Animal Rights activists want a ban all animal circuses, but how long will it take?
