Creature comforts: 4.4 million pets share a bed with their owner

A new survey has revealed that one in five pet owners allow their furry friend to share their bed.

Brits are well-known pet lovers, man's best friend and all, but sharing a bed is surely a step too far?

Young pet owners are especially lenient with their pet's sleeping arrangements, with 50% of owners aged 18-24 allowing their companion in between the sheets, this compares with 17% of 55-64 year olds.

Some may be surprised to hear that males are just as likely to share a bed with their pet as females, everyone's a softy when it comes to their pets!

It gets worse...

Although sharing a bed with a pet inevitably makes the sheets both hairy and dirty, the survey revealed that this had no impact on the frequency of sheet changing. 87% of respondents said that they change their sheets every fortnight, regardless of whether a creature companion has been in their as well.
