The leader of the English Defence League has accidentally started a Twitter hash tag that has backfired on him.
On Sunday night, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (also known as Tommy Robinson) complained about Twitter's sign-in page having a picture of a mosque, suggesting the choice of image was another example of #creepingsharia.
However, instead of getting his fellow far-right sympathisers to get in on the act, the hash tag became a comedic one for many Twitter users who began tweeting Lennon examples of 'creeping sharia'.
The hash tag is now trending with some absolute gems from Twitter users.
