Gary Connery, a 42-year old stuntman, has become the first ever person to jump 2,400 feet (731 meters) and land safely – without deploying a parachute.

Wearing a specially-designed winged suit Connery made the jump above Ridge Wood in Buckinghamshire, in the south-east of England, in front of thousands of people who had gathered to watch him.
