Twitter have suspended the official account of the English Defence League on the micro-blogging site.
Although the reason behind the suspension is unknown on Sunday the far-right group's leader, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (also known as Tommy Robinson) complained about Twitter's sign-in page having a picture of a mosque, suggesting the choice of image was another example of #creepingsharia.
However, instead of getting his fellow far-right sympathisers to get in on the act, the hash tag became a comedic one for many Twitter users who began tweeting Lennon examples of 'creeping sharia'.
