Male voice choirs are a prominent feature of welsh heritage and the gay is being carried by the South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus who perform regularly in the Cardiff area.
On Saturday, the South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus will perform Oscar-winning hits, show-stopping tunes from Hollywood, Broadway and popular choruses from the world of opera during their summer concert at The Gate Arts Centre in Cardiff to raise funds for the helicopter charity, Wales Air Ambulance.
A few days ago, the charity announced it was expanding its coverage for Mid Wales to 365 days a year. Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise over £5m each year in order to maintain the service.
Chris Roberts, Community Development Manager for Wales Air Ambulance said: "We’re delighted the Chorus has chosen to support us throughout 2011.
"This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Wales Air Ambulance and it’s fantastic to have such enthusiastic supporters to help us celebrate this important milestone."
Formed in February 2008, the South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus has quickly grown to 40 plus and built a rapidly growing fan club through its regular concerts and performances at Swansea Pride and Cardiff Mardi Gras.
