Anonymous attack Brazil gov't websites in protest of Rio+20 UN conference

  • comments

Internet hacking collective, Anonymous, have taken down at least two Brazilian government websites in protest of the ongoing Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development.

The first website shut down was that of the Brazilian government's land and agrarian reform agency, Incra. Their website remains inaccessible, at the time of writing, almost 40 minutes after it happened. Incra have been the subject of controversy before, even facing criminal charges over Amazon deforestation.

The second website that appears to have been targeted is that of Iporá, a small city and municipality in west-central Goiás state.

The hacktivists have also claimed to have taken down the department of state traffic, education services and education for sustainable development websites.

In the place of the normal website, there is a black screen with a video from Anonymous.
