The internet hackivist group Anonymous has taken down two official Bahraini government websites on Wednesday including the Interior ministry website.
This new operation comes as many activists expressed concerns over the disappearance of hunger striker Al-Khawaja. In a statement published on Wednesday the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights said they were deeply concerned "regarding the disappearance of a prominent activist Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja."
The Bahrain Centre for Human Rights reported that Khawaja’s family was told on the phone on Wednesday morning that his room was empty.
Anonymous have vowed to help Bahrainis to overthrow the Khalifa regime.
During the F1 Grand Prix, members of Anonymous hacked the official F1 website as well as several official websites.
