Rumour has it Apple is about to launch an iPad mini later this year.
Chinese net portal, NetEase said that Apple were considering bringing out a new device to counter attack upcoming Windows Tablets and enter the Kindle-type market.
NetEase claimed that the device will be released around the third quarter of this year and will cost anywhere from US$249 to $299 and that there will be an initial 6 million units ready for launch.
Apple released the New iPad this year which was only seen as a slight upgrade on the iPad 2. Apple fans were left disappointed when the iPhone 4s was launched whilst most fans expected an iPhone 5. But despite that, Apple remains the world's most profitable company with Apple shares hitting $US644 in overnight trading last week.
