Ayatollah Khamenei: Iran's youth will continue Islamic revolution

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, has stressed that the youth of Iran will continue the path of the Islamic revolution.

Addressing a group of veterans from the eight-year Iran-Iraqi war on Friday evening in Tehran, Khamenei warned that Iran is ready to continue to surpress outside interference, and called on Iran's youth population to continue promoting the ideals of the Islamic Republic.

Ayatollah Khamenei said "thousands of books with [the] highest artistic standards were needed to record and portray the details of sacrifices of Iran's combatants."

He further termed the performance of Iranian combatants during the war with Iraq as "highly successful, invaluable, grand and bewildering."

An estimated 1 million Iranians were killed or wounded during the war with many Iranians continuing to suffer and die as a consequence of Iraq's use of chemical weapons.
