Activists interrogated after appearing on Al Jazeera's The Stream

It has been revealed on Wednesday that two of the activists featured on Monday's episode of The Stream, devoted to the prospect for democratic reforms in Bahrain, were called in for questioning by authorities the next day.

The Stream is a daily television programme on Al Jazeera English. It is branded as a “Web community With a Global TV show”.

The tweet of Mohammed Hasan, a Bahraini blogger, was featured in Monday's episode. It read: ‪#AJStream‬ why should I need a dialogue for torture to stop? why should I need a dialogue to have freedom of expressions?

The head of the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights Nabeel Rajab was also featured on Monday's episode. On Tuesday he tweeted:

It has been reported on Wednesday that Rajab was arrested. He will remain in detention for at least 7 days. The prominent dissident was reportedly arrested for criticizing the Bahraini Prime Minister on Twitter but also for accusing the regime of spreading lies during his interview on The Stream on Monday.
