In one of the strangest stories in a long time, a bullet 'spontaneously exploded' in a woman's purse.
The lady was shopping in at a home improvement store - Pennsylvania Lowe - last weekend when the incident happened.
Local police said the woman did not have a gun on her.
"She did not have a gun in her purse or on her," Montoursville Deputy Police Chief Jason Bentley said. According to police the woman was not even aware she had two to three bullets in her purse.
"Something must of hit the primer of one of the bullets," Bentley said. "The bullet stayed in the purse, but its casing put a hole in the purse and caused a minor leg wound," he added.
The 56-year-old woman, who lives in the Williamsport area, was later discharged, the Sun Gazette reported.
