A British Army First Royal Tank Regiment Trooper, and Business Management student has been chosen to represent Ghana in the Judo events at the London Olympics this summer.
Emmanuel Narty, 29-years-old, currently living in Bath, is the number one Judo black belt in Africa and is ranked 23rd in the world. Narty will be competing in the Judo events between Saturday, July 28th to Friday, August 3rd at the Excel Centre.
The multi-talented Narty has been praised by staff at Weston College where he is studying for his foundation degree. Andy Alton said: “We are extremely proud of Emmanuel. For a student to work, study a degree and train for the Olympics, shows remarkable commitment and drive."
Narty has said that the Army are allowing him to take time off in order to compete in the Olympics, and have been very supportive.
