A Kenyan woman was arrested at the Dubai International Airport early April after police found cocaine hidden in her hair, the National reported on Monday quoting police as saying.
The report says police became suspicious after they saw the size of the woman's hairdo. When they stopped her, the 25-year-old said she used a special type of glue which made her hair looks so big. No convinced, police officers proceeded to an examination and found 360 grams of cocaine wrapped in plastic bags and taped to her hair.
After interrogation the 25-year-old woman, who was travelling from Buenos Aires to Nairobi, said she had received the drug from a South African friend who lives in Argentina and added she was given the instruction to deliver the drug in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mid-April another woman, aged 28 also from Africa, was stopped at the Dubai Airport and then arrested after police found 404 grams of heroin in her shoes. The woman came from Faisal Abad and was heading to Nairobi.
Both cases have been transferred to the public prosecution.
