Syrian activists have claimed that Samer Qawas, a first year student at Aleppo University, was killed by Shabeeha, plain-clothes regime supporters, after they threw him out of the fifth floor window of his student accommodation building.
Violence has escalated at Aleppo University over the past few days. Four students were killed last night by Syrian forces and more than 200 arrested after Syrian troops stormed an anti-regime protest on Campus.
According to the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights 28 students were also wounded. Activists said the raid was carried out in response to daily anti-regime demonstrations at the university in Syria’s second largest city. Classes at Aleppo University have been suspended.
